History

Maber MotorsThe origins of PFG Australia can be traced all the way back to Maber Motors, a small one man operation established by Laurie Maber in 1948 to sell and service tractors and implements to the local farming community in Morrinsville, New Zealand.

Over the years Maber Motors expanded to three retail branches, thanks largely to Laurie’s unfaltering commitment to service and backup. This was very much a family business, and Laurie’s son Geoff joined Maber Motors soon after leaving school.

Maber MotorsIn 1977, Maber Motors secured the rights to distribute Iseki tractors in New Zealand, and Geoff eventually formed a separate wholesale company to fully develop this new opportunity. The new company was named Power Farming Wholesale Limited.

Iseki quickly became New Zealand’s top selling tractor and Power Farming Wholesale Limited grew at a fantastic pace. In 1981, the company secured the Iseki distribution rights for Australia, and over the next two decades gradually built a stable of high quality tractor and machinery franchises in both countries.

Two companies were eventually established in Melbourne to manage the Australian side of the business – EuroAg representing the two European tractor brands of McCormick and Landini, and Ag Holdings representing the new Daedong tractor range from Korea together with the North American produced Buhler Versatile tractors and Jacobsen range of precision mowing equipment.

Both companies were very successful, and in July 2005 they were merged to create PFG Australia.

PFG Australia is now part of a major international enterprise, with a considerable investment in people, facilities, and technology – all aimed at serving a customer base spread throughout the length and breadth of Australia.
